Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
This was a classy move - by both teams... "The Bills marketing department this year has gone with the slogan 'One Heart, Beat Louder.' Our projections predict what that slogan literally tries to tell you: they're going to get beat louder this year." Football Outsiders 2018 Almanac... Bill Clinton never disappoints... "But if you don't understand what this is, its when you put your ding-dong sauce out and give them a sample." Marshawn Lynch (no relation) explaining urine testing (also from the Football Outsiders 2018 Almanac)... A thing of true beauty... This is how Buzz Aldrin treats his American flag. Do you think Neil Armstrong would be any less patriotic? Going to take a hard pass on seeing First Man... If they came out with a preview showing Jennifer Garner planting an American flag in the chest of a bad guy the movie Peppermint would absolutely crush at the box office...

Neil Armstrong and Mr. Gorsky
Today is the 49th anniversary of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon.
It is sad that at this point I can't think of that singular achievement without also thinking about the "Good luck Mr. Gorsky" urban legend.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- The Eiffel Tower lit up in the colors of the South African flag in memory of Nelson Mandela
- The Boston Celtics have to feel pretty good right now. They have Brad Stevens as coach (the anti-Jason Kidd) and then there's this coming up the next couple of years (speaking of Jason Kidd)
- This Iron Bowl call is pretty funny
- As a child of the 80's when you think Nelson Mandela you think Apartheid and then you think Artists United Against Apartheid and Sun City
- Is Jack Morris a Hall of Famer? The folks at Baseball-Reference.com don't think so.
- Awesome - Benedict Cumberbatch recites R Kelly lyrics
- Forgotten history - when Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were on the lunar surface - the Russians crashed into the moon
- Heh heh - Clint Eastwood riding a miniature pony
- Spontaneous street pillow fights - fantastic!
