More Linky Links

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- In the movie Dr. Hotez to be played by Stephen Root.

- Color me surprised - Peter Hotez has a history of refusing to debate anyone who disagrees with him. Yet he'd call for their censoring in a drop of a hat.

- Jonathan Turley on the utter failure of Merrick Garland. Thank God he wasn't allowed on the Supreme Court. Perhaps the biggest political hack of my lifetime.

- Real estate continues to be China's kryptonite.

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- VDH on China's 1984 government tactics. The decoupling is happening just in time.

- Navy confirms Global Strike Hypersonic weapon will first deploy on Virginia attack subs. "The conventional prompt global strike capability would allow the U.S. to hit any target on the planet with precision-guided weapons in less than an hour."

- I too was left scratching my head at the pardon for Rod Blagojevich. But this is an interesting theory on why President Trump acted the way he did.

- Interesting interview of writer Dean Koontz. (Though to be honest I was distracted reading this because of how much Koontz looks like Pete Rose. Have they ever been seen in the same room together?)

- An oral history of the movie Office Space. Long read but well worth it for fans of the flick.

A Modest Proposal

Here's a modest proposal to help reduce the national debt. Get rid of the penny.

Hear me out!

The national government announces that the US will no longer be minting pennies. And that from now on every tax will be ROUNDED UP to the nearest nickel. At the same time every check the government sends out and every expenditure will be ROUNDED DOWN to the nearest nickel. .

All the extra revenue gained from rounding up would be applied to reduce the national debt. And the rounding down would add up to some serious savings overall. It helps on both sides of the financial ledger.

Think the plot to Superman III or Office Space but on steroids and on a much larger scale.

How would this not work? People wouldn't even notice.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- 20 things you might not know about the movie Office Space.

- Las Vegas strip goes dark for Jerry Tarkanian. Classy move Vegas - classy move.

- Every nation should be looking at Botswana as an example to model themselves after. Every nation - even the US (because sometimes we lose our way).

- King Kong finally makes sense.

- Big Birdman is so much better than the movie Birdman (which I thought was awful).
