Monday Flotsam and Jetsam

Have a new miscellaneous thoughts and observations post up on Substack.

Today I joke around and talk some sports but there's also a very serious note - on Saturday the National Suicide Hotline transitioned from a 10-digit number to simply 988. Please share that bit of info with whoever you feel should be aware of the change. The 10-digit telephone number will remain active but all calls will now be routed to the 988 answering locations.

As always please subscribe, hit the Like button and share with others. Thanks.

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Changes at Basecamp. This is fantastic! "You shouldn't have to wonder [at work] if staying out of it means you're complicit, or wading into it means you're a target." "Back to basics, back to individual responsibility, back to work." Indeed! Hope many other companies follow this lead. (HT Execupundit)

- Texting 988 for the Suicide Prevention Hotline sounds like a worthy idea.

- Tesla Dojo Supercomputer explained. An interesting look at part of Tesla that doesn't get much discussion.

- And he's probably going to waste the rest of the money (HT Newmark's Door)

Important to Remember

Especially this time of year it is important to remember that almost all setbacks are temporary. Let "This too shall pass" be your mantra.

Depression is a serious issue and if you or someone you know is struggling make sure they know there is help.

Suicide hotline (800) 273-8255. Please ask for help.
