Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Interesting to note that one of the main reasons that Tim Berners-Lee helped develop the "world wide web" (the Internet) was to share particle physics data amongst computers. Now it's cat videos and porn. Progress!... Who knew? Holy Cross College was the 1952 NCAA National Champions in baseball. That surprised me and I'm a lifelong Worcester resident... This was a real movie. Seriously - it has a 5.8 rating on IMDB. It made a total box office of $101,729 worldwide (with $100,000 of that coming from the US). Is it weird I want to see this?... Saw a sign recently outside a church that read "Where the sheep come to be fed by their Sheppard." I don't have the words to describe how offensive and unappealing I would find this if I were one of the parishioners... Recent data showed China having unfavorable to favorable polling at more than 2-1 in most developed countries in the world - except for Israel where is is almost the exact opposite. Wonder why the Israelis have such high regard for China?...
