Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Kentucky Ford battery factory to shutter at cost of 1,600 jobs. Anyone paying attention could tell you the EV market was soft at best and that government subsidiaries were going away. Still something needs to be done here to help these workers.

- Yet that's their argument.

- From the archives: When the Catholic Church did not want to suffer a cat to live.

- MAC to add Sacramento State as football only member.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The financial historian. Will have to check this channel out.

- To Democrats the Save Act is political kryptonite.

- The sanctioned / stateless tanker nabbing gives - if we are willing to take.

- Newsweek: NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell faces calls to be fired. People calling for Goodell to be fired are painted as fringe but as I've pointed out an empty suit could do a better job with less controversy.

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Statement from the CEO of US Steel.

- Bill Belichick on late-game clock management.

- California Democrats push to block voter ID requirements. Segregation no vter ID today, segregation no voter ID tomorrow, segregation no voter ID forever.

- Annual snowfall trends in US. Looks basically unchanged to me.

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The Daily Coach on the Art of Listening.

- From the archive: An oral history of the famous WKRP turkey drop episode. That time of year again.

- Glenn Reynold's on why voter ID should be top priority for new administration. Grew up on stories of James Michael Curley as Mayor of Boston getting his machine to have supporters to vote multiple times in elections to get "his people" elected. Seemed amusing at the time but now I understand why voter ID is so important.

- Republicans name John Thune as new Senate Majority leader. Simple explanation is that it's a secret ballot vote and it's tough to get people to vote against their own self interest.
