Breaking Down a Tesla

Interesting look "under the hood" so to speak about the materials that actually go into making a Tesla

Some interesting nuggets in the post. For example, were you aware that the process of making a long-range EV actually produces 68%  more greenhouse gases that a similar gas powered car? It takes about 18 months for that EV car to overcome that handicap to become more "green" than a gas vehicle. 

Also I always assumed that Nevada was chosen as the site for the battery manufacturing Gigafactory because of much lower taxes than California but it was so the factory could be close to the lithium from clay found in the Nevada desert. The lower taxes were just a bonus!
