I am told the firewood restriction in Maine is to keep unwanted insects out. As I recall some insects have wings and probably are unaware of state borders. And don't they die when you burn the wood anyway? More laws, more restrictions.
ReplyDeleteBret in the comments on the post points out it's to try and keep out the emerald ash borer beetle. But as I asked Bret - who uses ash trees for firewood?
