Paul Graham with an excellent essay on conformism and liberty. Well worth your time with many great points. This one about censorship and who would do the censoring jumped out at me:
The first is that any process for deciding which ideas to ban is bound to make mistakes. All the more so because no one intelligent wants to undertake that kind of work, so it ends up being done by the stupid.
He also makes an observation about freedom of thought at universities that rings true. The post was from 2020 but since Paul Graham hasn't posted anything new on his blog since the pandemic its good to play the hits.
