In recent reports both California and New York have lost significant amounts of population. Enough so that each State will be losing seats in Congress.
One common sense explanation that seems missing from most reports of the exoduses is the anti-business and high costs of doing business in those States (especially energy costs). These States are driving businesses away. The people are simply following the jobs. Usually to States that are business friendly - like Texas.
Just wish the people leaving would leave their lib ideas behind.
ReplyDeleteExactly...I'm getting tired of hearing people say "Back in LA, we did it this way" Then "GO back to LA" the voice in my head is screaming (at least so far it's only in my head, how much longer is unknown.)
ReplyDeleteResidency laws for voting are underused, particularly at the local level. There's Nothing unconstitutional about requiring a decade or more in a place before you can vote in local or state elections, and disenfranchising rootless carpetbaggers who only list for power...like most all academics and bureaucrats, would instantly improve college towns and state capitals.
