I used to chat with the Deputy Commander where I worked. He was the acting Deputy standing in for the absent one who was overseas for a year and this guy was also one of our Squadron Commanders and a dad and a fully employed businessman in his real life job and one or the other of his cell phones or beepers would go off at least once per minute. I considered my life and decided I was by far the happier man in the room. I can only imagine the Hell Ike was put through for the last 3 years of WWII.
A fan of Ike and convinced that if there was no WW II he may have been the head football coach at West Point instead. He was a heck of a player before he blew out his knee.
