Brian Greene does a nice job explaining quantum entanglement and the significance of this year's Nobel Prize in Physics.

Currently Reading
Here's the books I'm currently reading.
The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. The book is both a history of physics and quantum mechanics and also the case for String Theory. About half way done - slow reading because of the material. Reading with a grain of salt because the more time passes by the more skeptical I become about String Theory.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Re-reading this for the I don't know how many times. Just felt like picking it back up. About half-way through. In my opinion perhaps the most under-rated of the Harry Potter books.
Things That Matter by Charles Krauthammer. Just started this one and it may take a while. It is a collection of essays and I'm keeping myself to reading at most one essay a day. Feel this is the best way to get the most out of Dr. Krauthammer's prose.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- Pat Summerall and John Madden do play by play on Easter Bunny fight.
- From the book Live From New York an "interesting" Milton Berle story
- Interesting interview of physicist Brian Greene. Touches on belief in God, Greene being an elitist, and if free will is real.
- The trail leading back to the Wuhan Labs. Lots of circumstantial evidence - too much to ignore.
- Tesla robotaxi's in 2020? Tesla robotaxi's would crush Uber and Lyft right now because there would be minimal chance of virus spread from driver to passenger.
- Smithfield shutting US pork plant indefinitely, warns of meat shortages during pandemic. If closing the economy means no bacon - there will be riots!

Brian Greene - What is String Theory?
Important to remember that this is just a theory. And other theories are also starting to emerge.

Space and Time
Brian Greene explains space and time in a single continuum.
And since he mentions Leonardo da Vinci here's what the uber genius said about time over 500-years ago, "The instant does not have time; and time is made from the movement of the instant." Mind blown!

The Nobel Prize in Physics
The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to the LIGO team for proving gravitational waves exist. Brian Greene explains both what gravitational waves are and also why this is so important.
Meanwhile Eddie Yong explains why the award didn't really go to the LIGO "team" but only to Rainer Weiss, Kip Thorne, and Barry Barish. All well deserving but the question remains - what about the rest of the team? I agree that's its time to make changes to how the Nobel Prize is awarded in science.

- Can you imagine trying to get away with a gym class like this today? We have become so soft.
- Did I mention how soft we've become?
- This is fantastic. I guess not everyone is soft.
- Brian Greene - making sense of string theory

- I don't own a gun (yet) but I just have to say Mike Rowe's post on guns is awesome!
- Now I really want to try this booze
- Making sense of String Theory. The video is from 2005 - I wonder if the theory still holds up? Seems like all the cool kids are speaking about Quantum Physics these days.
- Fantastic true story of an American fugitive drug smuggler who became an environmental hero in Australia
- 12 fun facts about Slap Shot. Thank God they went with Paul Newman and not Al Pacino.
