Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

I don't know anything about soccer but I do know class when I see it. This was 100% class... It still blows my mind that Ronald Reagan was the first choice to play Rick Blaine in the movie classic Casablanca... 15 secrets of commercial divers. I always wanted to be a commercial diver... 80% of all insects live in the jungle. Ergo I will never live in the jungle... I ALMOST do this all the time. It happens when you're not really paying attention on a call... Next season on Game of Thrones a great wizard and conjurer will be introduced. Some call him Tim... Heh Heh - very clever...

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Bryan Cranston goes to Comic-Con disguised as Bryan Cranston! Genius!

- Divers almost get eaten by whales (although I'd guess that the whales knew they were there and were not going to eat something that would probably give them diarrhea - nothing worse than whale diarrhea)

- Remembering Dennis Farina - I thought he was great in Out of Sight. Small role but he stole every scene. Get Shorty was also excellent.

- Fantastic Neil Gaiman short story - A Study in Emerald (PDF).

- Very cool - a walrus asleep on a Russian sub

- Speaking of photos - some beautiful black and white photography

- Cool story - good for Brady Hoke and Michigan. I wish this kid a full recovery.

- Hah hah - CNN you never cease to give

Stuff I found interesting and thought I'd share.

Did Jerry Seinfeld copy the UK web series Carpool? I think he independently had the same concept but I also think it would be nice if Jerry had Robert Llewellyn on one of the next episodes. Win-win. Also worth the time to watch the video of Patrick Stewart who seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Heh heh - Barack's birthday cards

Why do divers go hot tubbing after a dive?

Interesting - Apple had to sell a million iPads in 2010 just to cover the cost of advertising

How do smartphone touchscreens work?
