The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen

This was considered new wave when I was young but now it's probably considered a lost classic.

The Cutter - Echo and the Bunnymen

Another mostly forgotten classic.

The Killing Moon - Echo and the Bunnymen

Top 5 - New Wave Songs

This is a different type of Top 5 list because these aren't actually my Top 5 New Wave songs. Instead these are the five songs I'd suggest adding to Cultural Offering's New Wave playlist. List in no particular order. Enjoy:

1. Fascination Street - The Cure
2. Straight to Hell - The Clash
3. Hey Saint Peter - Flash N the Pan
4. Bedbugs and Ballyhoo - Echo and the Bunnymen
5. Love Spreads - Stone Roses

These were basically off the top of my head but they are songs I regularly would play on a bar's jukebox. Also not sure if The Clash technically counts as "New Wave" but Combat Rock came out in 1982 so I'm going to count it. There's many, many other songs that could be added. Great period for music.

Soul Kitchen - Echo and the Bunnymen

Starting Sunday off with a little music. Nice Doors cover by Echo and the Bunnymen - who don't get the recognition I think they deserve.

Top 100 Songs of 1984?

Supposedly this is a list of the top 100 songs of 1984 (according to a college rock website). I say "supposedly" because these aren't the top 100 songs of 1984 but I don'y have time to do complete list of my own. I do give them credit for picking Echo and the Bunnymen at the top spot. For an example of why this list needs drastic revision - OMD's Tesla Girls comes in at number 51. That song is crap.

The list does bring back some fond memories though.

100 of My Favorite Songs

Today offering (61) Lips Like Sugar by Echo and the Bunnymen.

Early Afternoon Music

Here's this afternoon's listening (and watching I guess) music selections.

- Jackson Browne - The Pretender

- Echo and the Bunnymen - Bring on the Dancing Horses

- The Clash - The Magnificent Seven

- Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Rascal King

- The Clancy Brothers - Finnegan's Wake. With one of the best intro to a song ever done.

Morning Music

Some morning music for your listening enjoyment.

- Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. With lyrics in Spanish or Portuguese (I don't know which).

- Jim Carroll Band - People who Died. Is it bad that I'm surprised that Jim Carroll is still alive?

- The Godfathers - Birth, School, Work Death. A blast from the 80's.

- Echo and the Bunnymen - Killing Moon. I love Echo and the Bunnymen's 1984 album Ocean Rain.

- Def Leppard - Foolin. In honor of today being April's Fool day.
