Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Happy 4th of July weekend... How soon before we get woke math? Specifically I can see some moron math teacher arguing that it is unfair to all the other even natural numbers that there's only one even Prime number and what if another even number self-identifies as Prime? Crazy yes but not out of the realm of possible these days...  Some hospitals have started posting their prices online. Good tip - Google the name of the hospital and "price transparency" before having anything done and maybe do the same for another alternative hospital... Reminder that in his senior year of high school Tom Brady's team went just 5-5 even though they had Tom Brady at QB. That means out in California there's 5 guys in their early 40's who can brag that they beat Tom Brady...  I have a good feeling that this may finally be the year that People Magazine names me "Sexiest Man Alive." I've got my fingers crossed. I mean time may be running out for Sexiest Man Alive award which could be replaced anytime because "Sexiest" and "Man" aren't really politically correct anymore...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

The last time an Ivy League student won the Heisman Trophy was Princeton's Dick Kazmaier in 1951. Maybe sometime in the future we'll have a trivia question about the last time an Ivy Leaguer was elected President... This was cute... I have a good feeling that this year may finally be the year that People Magazine names me "Sexiest Man Alive." I've got my fingers crossed... It would be funny if it weren't so true... On a recent Joe Rogan podcast with Jocko Willink the suggestion was raised that police should all be at least purple belts in Jiu Jitsu. That way they would know proper choke holds and have the experience of being choked out themselves (so they know how it feels). I really like this idea. I believe Joe gave original credit for the idea to Andrew Yang...  This is hopeful - URI engineering professor helping ALS patients use their brains to communicate. Nice to read some good news for a change - isn't it? And Doug Sawyer should be an inspiration for us all. (Hat tip Liberty Man)...

Sexiest Man Alive Royal Rumble

If there was a WWE type Royal Rumble held among the People Magazine Sexiest Man Alive winners from the past 18-years - who would win? Even though Blake Shelton is a rather large 6'5" and 212 pounds - do you really think anyone is beating 2016's Sexiest Man Alive Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson? I mean nobody is taking that title belt from the Rock. It would be cool though to see 2003 Sexiest Man Johnny Depp get body slammed. And I wouldn't sleep on 2008's Hugh Jackman's athletic ability (though I think he's too nice to pull the heel moves needed to win).

Thanks to "Chuuch" for putting this thought in my head.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Don't want to comment on DeflateGate or listen to the pablum on sports talk radio. It all makes me ill.. Heh heh... The reason pay phones still exist is so people can use them to call people they don't like in the middle of the night just to wake them up anonymously... Classy move by the Reds... Another year and once again People Magazine has passed me by as their pick as The Sexiest Man Alive. One day they will learn the error of their ways... 10 things you might not know about Life Savers... If the Patriots don't pick a QB in the draft as insurance for Brady's 4-game suspension - I wouldn't be surprised if they brought Tim Tebow into camp. No - I am not kidding about this... Interesting - did the legendary embrace of Jackie Robinson by Pee Wee Reese ever actually happen?... So Mark Cuban says that Russell Westbrook is not a "superstar". Didn't he say the same thing about Steve Nash? How did that work out for Cuban?... Cool technology - replace your electrical outlets with a dual USB charger...
