Don't fall for any of the cries that Donald Trump doesn't know what he's doing authorizing a 90 day "pause" on most new tariffs and that he's "just winging it." Anyone involved in negotiations will tell you first you make a demand and the other party responds. The 90 day window is so these countries have the time to meet with the new Administration for their counter offer which in many cases will be accepted as fair and good for the US. The "pause" is the hammer that if the offer isn't acceptable then these new tariffs go into effect. 90 days truly isn't a long time.
