Going to have to disagree with this statement. Yes a therapist might say "Time's up" but you cannot be suggesting they provide an open ended schedule. Also many of those in most need of therapy may not have a clergy person, relative, or wise layperson to turn to. Or in some cases these very people may be the cause of the trauma. Never personally used a therapist or felt the need to but I do not assume others are as lucky. Depression is real and mental health issues are also real - if you feel the need for help - seek it!

The Disenlightenment
"The universality of the therapist in the lives of a certain class does not alleviate but in fact encourages that classes dissatisfaction. Uncle Harry might say, 'Yes, that's tough' or "We've all been there.' or indeed, 'You'll live.' But he would not conclude, 'That's all we have time for today, see you next week.' That's a health professional might assess and aid a sufferer from psychological complaints is not impossible, but it is no more likely than a clergy person, relative, or wise layperson might do."
