The story reminded me of a quote from Alan Turing on developing Artificial Intelligence: "No, I'm not interested in developing a powerful brain. All I'm after is just a mediocre brain, something like the President of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company." Turing would probably have to lower the bar on his definition of "mediocre" after this latest move by AT&T.
