Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

 - Starlink now has worldwide roaming service available. $2,500 for the in-motion hardware and then up to $200 per month for service. Imagine this would be great for yachts and mobile homes.

- Americans deserve to know who funded the BLM riots. When did Newsweek morph into National Review?

- Anglo-Eastern plans to install Starlink on 200 ships. The technology is a game-changer.

- Great Jack Nicholson story.

Fortune Favors the Broke?

Goofus and Gallant shared a Super Bowl Square at last year's Rams vs Bengals game and they won! Each got $1,000 in winnings. Goofus decided to spend half his winnings on cocaine and a hooker and use the other half to catch up on some bills. Gallant was very impressed with Matt Damon's Crypto.com commercial during the Super Bowl and decided to invest his $1,000 in Bitcoin.

Now due to this week's "crypto crash" Gallant has lost more than half the value of his investment. And he still has some outstanding bills to pay. Is this the rare example of when hookers and cocaine are the better use of one's money? Or is the real lesson here not to take financial advice from Hollywood actors?

Note - I still believe in crypto currency and block chain technology. The above situation just occurred to me and I wanted to share.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Cool - A Seaside Irish Village Adopts Matt Damon

- WTF? Ducks regrow their penis each mating season and the size is based upon the competition for the available females? WTF - at least now we understand why Donald Duck could be shown pants-less - it wasn't mating season and he had no penis!

- VDH on the current situation. Excellent point about the UN. They have been less than useless.

- A Third Solution. This is very encouraging. I had never heard of "surface plasmon resonance" before but those three words could save our society.

- Good for the Houston Police Officer's Union

- Vitamin D levels vs Coronaviris Wuhan Virus case severity. Get out into the fresh air and sunshine.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Obama and the "know nothing" media... A blonde is a blonde, a brunette is a brunette and a redhead is a redhead. But what do you call a woman with black hair? You don't call her a black and certainly not a blackhead... Heh heh... Just a reminder - Red Auerbach won just a single NBA Coach of the Year award and that was for the season in which the Celtics would win the 8th of eventually 9 consecutive NBA titles... Heh heh... Interesting - animation of immigration to the US since the 1820's. Looks like pretty much every nation on Earth has people in the US now...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Tom Brady is 33-4 (89% winning percentage) when the temperature is below 40 degrees. Aaron Rogers is 16-5 (76% winning percentage). These guys just win in cold weather... Hail Flutie... Yesterday was both Vin Scully's (87) and Mariano Rivera's (45) birthdays. MLB should acknowledge the importance of the birthdays of two of the greatest ambassadors the game has by making their birthday the day when the new Hall of Fame class is announced... Heh heh... So will Colt McCoy replace RGIII in those Subway commercials too?... Matt Damon vs Ben Affleck. I was amused by this more than I should have been... Just a reminder about all those MLB trade rumors columns you read - not one writer had the Josh Donaldson trade from Oakland to Toronto. Take all you read with a grain of salt...

Good Question: Is it that the Red Sox are doing so well or that the Yankees suck so bad?

I think the answer has to be both.
