Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- Africa's ghost Roman city buried in the sand for centuries.
- Analysis - True!
- Peter Thiel's 2019 Manhattan Institute's Wriston Lecture.
- This may be the end of free conference calling services.
- Individual neurons may be "smarter" than previously believed. Though I'm not enamored with the metaphor of the brain as a computer.
- Trudeau's administration has pushed government spending to the highest levels in Canada's history. As much or more than 40% of GDP - higher levels than during World War II. And the economy has nothing to show for it.

- The Disney+ app looks pretty cool.
- Interesting new design for space telescopes

- Is Dark Matter older than the Big Bang?

- Interesting Ted Talk on growing new brain cells.
- Bitter Wheat looks like an entertaining play. Too bad Hollywood would never make a movie out of it.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Bill Weld announced he was going to primary against President Trump as a Republican in an effort to raise Weld's profile. How's that working out?... Can't believe the number of people in the media who fell for the guy eating "mayo" from a jug. That's one of the oldest pranks. Wiling to bet good money that the guy was actually eating vanilla pudding... How to improve your social skills... Firmly believe that the last 20% of a cigar is the best "smoke" from the cigar... The human brain is made up by about 100 billion neurons... Thought about creating a new Twitter handle "Your Dad" where I'd retweet with comments like "I'm disappointed in you" or "I'd always hoped you'd do better than this" or similar approbations to people who Tweet silly things. But honestly it would be too much work . So many silly people...

- Canada needs to fight back against unfair Chinese trade practices. China knows it can bully Canada but if Trudeau is ousted as PM due to the Quebec scandal and is replaced by a Conservative then China will either feel the pain economically of new Canadian tariffs or it will resolve it's trade war with the US hoping Canada will fall in line.
- I might be in the minority but this looks pretty cool to me. Granted I have a thing for blimps and I do not think this would work in congested city environments.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Rumor has it that LeBron James is including Boston among the teams he wants to speak with this summer. Do you think he might just be trying to meet Tom Brady? Remember Brady was part of the Celtics pitch to Kevin Durant a couple of seasons ago... Who knew? I was well aware that there was such a thing as a "Wet Willy" but were you aware there is such a thing as a "Dry David"?... Maybe it's just me but any time a bartender calls me "sir" I have the urge to rip a really loud fart... Wonder if the brain having two hemispheres is left over from back when we were aquatic animals who always had to be awake in the water with one side of the brain always active and alert (like dolphins)... D-Day by the numbers... Hardhat Jesus would be a good name for a band. As would Jesus Fish and Chips... True story - before picking Dan Quayle to be his Vice President, George H.W. Bush briefly considered Clint Eastwood for the ticket...
