Jim Edmonds is now on record as saying he'd be open to a trade if the Cardinals thought it would improve the team:
Edmonds, who enjoys the right to veto any deal, said Sunday he would consider a trade if the Cardinals think it would be in the organization's best interests.Sorry to break it to you Jim but I don't think there's a team out there who would take you in a trade. Edmonds is high priced (he's in the first year of a 2-year $19 million extension), he's often hurt (his games played and at bats have decreased every year since 2004 due to injuries) and he has decreased offensive abilities (in 2004 he averaged a HR every 12 or so at bats but this year its 1 HR every 33 or so at bats).
The Cardinals signing Edmonds to that big extension was a big mistake. If the Cardinals do find a taker for Edmonds - you can be sure that St. Louis will be eating a big part of the contract as part of the deal.
