D-Day
Above is General Eisenhower's speech he gave on D-Day 74 years ago.
Here is the speech he planned to give if things went badly. He planned on taking full responsibility. Thank God he never had to give that speech.
And if you find yourself watching a baseball game today remember that on this day in 1944 Major League Baseball cancelled all games because they didn't think it was appropriate to be playing games while men were fighting and dying on the beached of Normandy.
