Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- Glenn Reynolds: Slouching towards war? I too worry we may be casually moving toward WW III. It should also be noted that Xi Jinping is rumored to be on the outs in China - what if he turns more hawkish to retain power or whoever replaces him does?
- From the archives: The Fox sisters and Spiritualism.
- Televised events everybody watched. I'd add the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster to that list (and for some Joe Theisman getting his leg broken).
- VDH: The war between Trump's chemotherapy and the Biden cancer. He's not wrong.
Neither Theisman nor Challenger fit really, both were memorable, but they were both over in seconds. The others were either scheduled events or ongoing coverage of an evolving situation. The OJ verdict would actually be a better entry than the Bronco chase.
ReplyDeleteWas too young for many on the list but most seem to be over in a seconds - how long does it take for a man to step on the moon, JFK to be shot, or for a space shuttle to explode. Remember where I was for the OJ chase too and that done did seem to drag out for a long time.
