There are conflicting theories of abundance leading to guaranteed basic income and also of warnings that the Social Security Administration is about to run out of money. My question is why can't we use all that extra money that would fund the guaranteed basic income and use it for the folks who have reached retirement age or are disabled? Makes sense. Problem solved.

Suicidal security has done more than any program prior to the abominations of the 1960s to undermine American society. In one sweep it eliminated the frugality and responsibility of providing for yourself and your loved ones and turned it into uncle Sam's job. It broke apart generations of families that had a live in grandparent or two to help around the house, it turbocharged the rate of unsustainable suburban sprawl in the south and southwest, and gave a safety net to those least deserving of it, people who never had children, participated in normal Society, or those who so alienated their families with abhorent and deviant behavior that they were rightfully shunned.
