Not sure if the Democrats truly realize the extent that most of their major "names" have become national jokes. You have Gavin Newsom, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, and the list goes on and on. None of them can be taken seriously. If there's a betting opportunity to take any of the Democratic names listed to be the President in 2028 or the field - take the field because these folks are toast if they run. They make Mike Dukakis look charismatic.

You are right that the potential candidates getting talked about now are unlikely to be the nominee. If DEMs want any chance to regain the WH, they need to nominate someone without the stain of supporting the 20 side of 80/20 issues. A governor like Bashear or Shapiro has a better chance of faking being normal. Newsom has too long a history of liberal extremism (trans stuff etc) to be electable add in his Covid tyranny/hypopcrisy and he's toast.
ReplyDeleteAt this point of the election cycle who had heard about Bill Clinton as the nominee or Barack Obama? My guy is you're right - it will be someone unstained by any connection to Biden who will use those connections like a cudgel.
