Am I wrong or is the new plan to pull the troops out of Afghanistan before the troops are pulled out of Washington DC? That's pretty messed up and it's like nobody's paying attention... The Great Barrington Declaration and Ad Hominem Augmentation. True - if they had a case to make they would instead they attack the signers... Remember a few years ago when Coors released a new drink - Coors Light Iced Tea but nobody in marketing thought through the acronym (CLIT)? "Hey guys let's go out and grab some CLIT" - you don't see that product advertised anymore (for some reason)... Unpopular Opinion: I see people talking about getting the vaccine and being relieved that they can now spend time with their family, friends and loved ones again. Truth is you could have been doing that all along... Not a soccer fan but I understand the outrage over the new proposed Super League. As a way to confront that threat to history and tradition I offer a simple recommendation: any player under contract to any team in the Super League would not be eligible for a World Cup roster. You could easily get Britain and Scotland to support such a measure and I'm guessing Spain and Germany would come on board as well. That would take the steam out of the Super League from the get go...

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- NASA's Voyager 2 probe enters interstellar space. The second NASA probe to do this but still a tremendous accomplishment that should have garnered more attention than it did.

-  101-year old WWII vet credits his longevity to having a Coors Light every day. Coors hears of this and does the right thing.

- I was in Miami watching the Army/Navy game but this pre-game benediction brought tears to my eyes. Where do we find such men?

- Screw Nike. BTW - Nike's stock price is down about $7 since they announced the Kaepernick ad campaign.

- Godspeed former President George H.W. Bush from his Secret Service detail. Interesting - did not know his Secret Service code name was Timberwolf.

- Actor Philip Bosco has passed at age 88. I agree with Alan Sepinwall - my favorite role of his was as the bus driver (or "blufftony" driver if you like) in the movie Quick Change.

- Another story that was grossly under-reported was President Trump's progress in world trade at the recent G-20 meeting in Argentina.

True story - Bill Lear, the founder of Lear Jet Corporation named his daughter Shanda. Yup Shanda Lear... This puts the BP oil disaster into perspective... In the 1995 MLB draft the Red Sox took Andy Yount with the 15th pick while Roy Halladay went 2 picks later to the Blue Jays. Talk about wanting a do-over... Lyndon Baines Spongebob... Whatever happened to Madame Esperanza Brooks? She was the cheerleader coach by day who ran an escort service by night who was arrested in Las Vegas a couple of summers ago. She claimed that Bill Clinton and Shaq were two of her clients. You would think that story would have had more legs (no pun intended)... Heh heh - the classic Squirrel catapult... Coors must aim their advertising at stupid people. Not sure about you but I can tell when my beer is cold all by myself. I don't need "windows" or blue mountains to do it for me... This is odd. Tampa Bay must really hold a grudge... Speaking of commercials - Aciphex is a product whose name is pronounced "ass-effects" and whose possible side-effects include gas, infection, and constipation. That just cracks me up... In Reagan's first term there was only one PC in the White House and it was used as a word processor. My how times have changed... Awesome Big Baby GIF,,,
