Stuff I found interesting and amusing and thought I'd share.
- Fentanyl found in THC gummies sold at Pennsylvania store.
- Heh Heh
- Yesterday would have been George Harrison's 80th birthday. It's things like this that made him my favorite Beatle.
- 9 rules for all Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote interactions.

Quotes for Today
Some quotes I hope may resonate with you.
"Tell a man that there are 400 billion stars and he'll believe you. Tell him a bench has wet paint and he has to touch it." - Steven Wright
"If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot." - Dean Smith
"Everything else can wait, but the search for God cannot wait, and love one another." - George Harrison's last words 21-years ago this week
"If Twitter was a Chinese company, Apple wouldn't dare delete it from the App Store." - Naval Ravikant

Flotsam and Jetsam
"You know what the issue is with this world? Everyone wants a magical solution for their problems, and everyone refuses to believe in magic." - Alice in Wonderland... If I could listen to just one artist on a desert island I think I would probably end up choosing between Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits and solo) or George Harrison (The Beatles and solo)... Convinced that the very best obituaries of Little Richard will mention his crucial role in the movie Mystery, Alaska... "Life is short, break the rules. Forgive quickly, kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that makes you smile." - Mark Twain (emphasis added for the tip I really want to take to heart)... Michael Jordan's Bulls were swept twice in the NBA playoffs by the great Larry Bird Celtic's teams of 86 and 87 (the 86 team is considered by many to be the greatest NBA teal of all-time). These were best of 5 series so the sweeps were just 3 games. If you put the 33-year old Jordan on those Bulls teams they don't get swept by the Celtics. And I still say if you put a 33-year old Jordan on the Cavs instead of LeBron James they don't get swept in 4-games in the 2018 NBA Finals by the Warriors... Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there...

George Harrison
Hard to believe but George Harrison passed away 18-years ago today. Above is one of his hits that seems mostly forgotten today. Here's perhaps his greatest song performed by friends after his passing (and featuring one of the best guitar solos in history). Sad that the song was supposed to be a tribute to George but now also serves as a tribute to both Tom Petty and Prince as well.

Tom Petty Linky Links
- George Harrison, Tom Petty and Ukuleles
- Everyone is mentioning their favorite Tom Petty song. There's so many to choose from but mine is Running Down a Dream
- Speaking of Running Down a Dream - if you want to know the history of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers I highly recommend the documentary Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Running Down a Dream
- When George Harrison passed away Tom Petty led a star studded tribute of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. The song featured one of the great guitar solos of all-time by Prince.
Who is going to lead the tribute to Tom Petty? And what song will they choose?

When We Was Fab - George Harrison
Hard to believe this song is now 30-years old. You really don't hear it often enough.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Actor Bill Paxton has passed away at age 61... Knowing that Neil Diamond wrote Sweet Caroline about a prepubescent Caroline Kennedy - his song Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon is even more creepy... What were people in the 1970's fucking thinking!... When people think of Bill Paxton's movie roles I think most think of him starring in Twister but I always think of him as Morgan Earp in the movie Tombstone... This remains one of the best "selfies" in history even though George Harrison took it before the word "selfie" even existed... According to Hammurabi's Code the fetus of a "superior" woman was worth 10 shekels of silver... This is the car I'd really like to own... When I hear the name Sean Spice for some reason my brain thinks of Dora the Explorer and Swiper. Spicer stop spicing!... It still blows my mind that the Patriots led the Super Bowl for ZERO minutes and still won...

Prince's Best Solo
Here's the backstory of how that came to be.
Here's a story of Prince and Journey that shows Prince's integrity as an artist.
I feel bad that I never properly appreciated Prince when he was alive.

Gary Shandling
Here he is with Jerry Seinfeld getting coffee (the jokes about death are a little uncomfortable in retrospect)..
The fact that he was still playing pick-up basketball in his sixties is all the more reason to admire the man.
The WTF Marc Maron episode with Gary Shandling is well worth your time.
The Esquire "What I've Learned" piece from a few years ago is insightful (especially the fact that everyone is uncomfortable at parties).
His August 2010 GQ interview is a must read.
I admit that I was very surprised by Shandling's spirituality. He reminded me of George Harrison in that regard. I hope he's found peace.

Rock Documentaries
Other titles I'd put in the running include:
- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers: Runnin' Down a Dream (directed by Peter Bogdanovich). Very interesting history but 239 freaking minutes long.
- Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten. Very under-rated flick about a man with more charisma than all the members of the Eagles combined.
- George Harrison: Living in the Material World (directed by Martin Scorsese). This was a two-part HBO special. Harrison was always my favorite Beatle. I would have to place this at the top of my list just because I found Harrison so fascinating a person.
