How about those Boston Celtics?... I for one welcome our robot overlords... If Roy Moore does win his election in Alabama - President Trump can solve his problem by making Moore Ambassador to Germany (the age of consent there is just 14-years old). I kid, I kid... Awwww... The Democrats should immediately have Christopher Plummer replace Al Franken as Senator from Minnesota. Call it the Kevin Spacey Recall... "The wide world is all about you; you can fence yourselves in, but you cannot for ever fence it out." - JRR Tolkien... Just to give you an idea of current priorities in Boston (not pictured World Peace)... Am I the only one who wonders if that grandma in the Southwest commercial was being held prisoner by that nursing home?... There should be no "new" Tom Clancy novels. It's just sanctioned fan fiction at this point. Tom Clancy died years ago. Let the man rest in peace...

I think most middle of road voters in America are now thinking along the lines of "Well Barack Obama was bad but at least he wasn't Donald Trump bad"... Strange and intriguing - Kevin Spacey and the Florida Panthers (I think I'm buying one of those sweatshirts)... 90% of the time if you are speaking with someone over the age of 21 and one of their first introductory sentences begins with "My dad was..." - you are speaking with a moron... I agree - this is pure genius... Here's hoping the Red Sox are on the phone right now talking possible trade with the White Sox for disgruntled ace Chris Sale... Hockey parents are the best... Went to a bar that had a drink called the R. Kelly. Hard lemonade is one of the ingredients. That's either genius or disgusting (I vote for the latter)... Cool story about David Ortiz meeting a 92-year old WWII vet... If you are doing a physics special on TV - are you contractually obligated to have at least one scene in a pool hall?... Interesting - scientists now say that walking burns more calories than previously thought...

House of Cards

I happened to stumble upon the 1990 BBC series House of Cards on Netflix and after watching the first episode I was hooked. The show was smart, witty and had vastly under-rated Ian Richardson in the starring role. I was a fan of Richardson based upon his work in the also vastly under-rated The Fourth Protocol (so under-rated that IMDB only has the Spanish language movie poster).

Sir Nigel Irvine in The Fourth Protocol and Francis Urquhart in House of Cards were almost the same character. Powers behind the scenes. Guys who knew what was really going on. The big difference was Francis Urquhart became corrupted by his pursuit of power. In the first episode he would have been happy to have been given a cabinet position. By the end - he wanted it all and was willing to justify any means (and I do mean any) to accomplish his goals. Sir Nigel Irvine was content in just helping to avoid nuclear holocaust.

I also have to admit that I am fascinated by the British Parliamentary system. Their politics are just very cool to observe makes watching our C-SPAN like - well like watching C-SPAN.

What is funny is that Netflix is producing a re-make of the series starring Kevin Spacey and to be directed by David Fincher. It will be an Americanized version based in DC not London. I'll probably tune into that but if you haven't watched the original - do yourself a favor and download it.
