I'm 100% against the idea of "defund the police" but it's getting to the point where "defund the FBI" isn't exactly a completely unattractive idea... What journalists can learn from The Night Stalker. One of my favorite movies as a kid... So the government would basically like to prohibit anyone from being un-vaccinated. This is the same government that tried to prohibit people from drinking alcohol a hundred years ago and from smoking pot the past 60-years. How did that work out?...  It was Joyce's Ulysses and Melville's Moby Dick for me... Learned the New Orleans Saints' stadium will now be called Caesar's Superdome. I was bothered by that because to me it's always been just the Superdome. It bothered me until I remembered that until last week it was technically the Mercedes-Benz Superdome...

It should be remembered that one of the driving forces behind North Korea developing nuclear weapons in the first place was as a deterrent to China... The struggle for Democracy in Hong Kong continues. Let's not forget... Can't wait for football to come back so we can get all those "Jameis Winston is in the best shape of his life" stories coming out of Saints camp... Who knew? Hall of Famer Andre Dawson now works as a mortician... Part of me would like to create Chemistry Trading Cards of all the elements of the periodic table plus one scientist per pack (along with a stale piece of gum). Probably won't do it because the realist in me recognizes this would appeal to a limited niche market... Speaking of science related business ideas - instead of a Jack in the Box toy how about an Einstein in a Box toy? But instead of Pop Goes the Weasel we would need a better tune...

It was bad for Pat Kelsey to leave UMass at the altar for both Kelsey and UMass. My guess is word came to Kelsey that another higher profile opportunity with interest in him will be surfacing after the tournament... Faster please!... I think the word "disseminate" should refer to when a man jerks off to climax... I love these stories (I would have loved a Bruins win last night just as much)... If another job isn't handed to Kelsey after the tournament then you can be sure that AD's across the country will long remember what he did to UMass... If Disturbed can cover Sound of Silence - why not have Metallica cover Dianna Ross' Do You Know (Where You're Going To)... Therapeutic Cunnilingus would be a good name for a band... If the Saints need a CB so badly - wouldn't it have been better for them to have signed Stephon Gilmore? Trying to work a deal with the Patriots for Malcolm Butler will end up costing them much more...  Try our new grandma (she's delicious!)... Who knew? Ulysses S. Grant is the only person on regularly used US currency that actually graduated from college... Heh heh - train don't give a damn... I also think the word "orgasm" should be replaced with the word "culminate"...

Peter Gammons makes an excellent point about the Johnny Damon to the Braves rumors. If signing Johnny Damon blocks Jason Heywood in any way then it would be a deal that the Braves and their fans would regret. I still say that Damon winds up with the Tigers... Images of irony... Funny line from Jimmy Fallon who thinks that Tiger and Toyota should team up for a comeback with the slogan: “Tiger and Toyota, we swear we can stop”... I'm pretty sure it was Bill Simmons who brought the idea of "that guy" into popular culture. But it was this guy who came up with a reference chart... Sad but I have to agree with Kevin Nealon that 'The Who' should start calling themselves 'The Was'... Has Rock Band and Guitar Hero been replaced by people tending a fake farm on Facebook? That's what has happened in my household at least (disclaimer - I've never played Guitar Hero and I'm not on Facebook)... Jimmy Fallon is starting to grow on me. I've even come to terms with his bit part in Band of Brothers... I blame the dip in the stock market this week on all of the companies Peyton Manning does commercials for tanking after he threw that interception on Sunday... Now that Patrick Kennedy is not seeking re-election - I put the over / under on his next drunk driving arrest at six months...

Colts vs. Saints

The NFL regular season opens up tomorrow night with the New Orleans Saints at the Indianapolis Colts and for many people that will mean the first bet of the season.

The line this morning stands at Colts -6.5 and the over under is set at 53.5 (after opening the week at 51). According to Sports.com - 78% of the money is being bet on the Colts and 80% of the over/under money bet is going towards the over. This makes me a little nervous because I too like Indy and the over but I don't want to be a sheep and just follow the crowd.

I like the over because I don't think either team has the defense needed to stop the high powered offenses they will find on the other side of the ball. I don't expect many punts in this game. However, at 53.5 even a score like 31-21 goes under. What to do?

I think Indy will win the game but it could be the type of high scoring game that goes to overtime and is settled by a field goal. What to do?

Maye the best advice is to go with your first gut instinct - so I may just stick with my original pick of Indy plus the over (unless the lines keep going up).
