Saw this post at American Digest about Dire Straits signature song. As serendipity would have it - I recently saw this video explaining just how Mark Knopfler came up with this iconic song.
I've said it before but Mark Knopfler is perhaps the most underappreciated artist/musician of the past 60-years.
Agreed. Knopfler is amazing. One of my favorites is Neck and Neck, Knopfler and Chet Atkins. Remarkable.

Old fashioned me just got that CD Neck and Neck - two amazing talents playing together! Even I can hear their distinct styles as they play. What is more, Chet Atkins truly appreciated the talents of others. For example he was a fan of Lenny Breau a "kid" from Auburn Maine who was a phenomenal guitar player.
