More Linky Links

More tuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- A simple policy to reduce food prices. Repeal the biofuel requirements. They make no sense. If you want ethanol allow sugar cane stalks from Brazil instead of wasting good edible corn. (HT Cultural Offering)

- The reality underlying Mexico. He's not wrong but as President Bukele of El Salvador has shown there is a way.

- From the archives: The application of knowledge is hard work.

- Drones change everything about combined arms combat.

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Making sense of the EPA's Endangerment rule. That the EPA is supposed to protect the environment is something you should remind the people of Palestine, Ohio.

- From the archives: The surprising path to life on Mars; first go underground.

- I feel seen.

- The importance of the capture of Maduro and the $20 billion credit swap.

More stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- IOC disqualifies Ukrainian Olympian. The IOC can ban an entire country but an athlete cannot remember other athletes killed in a war that caused IOC to ban Russia. Bizarre.

- From the archives: Mitchell Paige - the real life face of GI Joe. Where do we find such men?

- President Trump and Administrator Zeldin deliver single largest deregulatory action in US history.

- Tracking the efforts to shrink the size of the federal government. Think its wise to show this as just an effort to get back to the size of the government during the Clinton Administration.

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Is the singularity here?

- From the archives: The acrobatic grace of Cary Grant.

- America's three biggest cities are swimming in employee pension debt. Unfunded or underfunded pensions are the biggest problem facing many municipalizes and some states.

- The EPA makes everything worse - case in point marine diesel engines. As an aside - you can't spell Borepatch without "epa."

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- Interesting thoughts on nuclear weapons. Makes sense.

- Also interesting - the EPA and the greenhouse gasses "endangerment findings." Rescinding the finding fits with moving fast and breaking things. Let the courts or Congress decide.

- From the archives: Jethro Tull's guide to Indian food.

- Top 20 FBI Fun Facts - James Comey Edition. James Comey is not a good man (and he doesn't hold a Presidential pardon from Joe Biden either).

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- EPA knew beforehand about risk at mine. It disgusts me that no one will even lose their job over this

- US Soldier: How We Stopped the Train Gunman

- Peter Gammons is the King of Butt Tweeting. Some of the comments are gold.

- Heh heh - speaking of Subway spokesmen

- For all those Firefly fans out there - that hat does make you look like an idiot (but we still love the hat)

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Not sure how I would feel about a possible Deadwood movie. Loved the show but it will more than 10-years passed if a movie does come out... I think the Jets are much better off with Ryan Fitzpatrick at QB. I also think Geno Smith will never start another game for the Jets... 18 Game of Thrones moments improved by Monty Python and the Holy Grail quotes... Growing up Catholic if a priest kept a mass under an hour he was a "good" priest. If he was consistently at 45 minutes - that priest developed a cult following... The idea of bringing back original Johnny Carson Tonight Show episodes in their full length is genius. So glad the hurdles were cleared to make this happen... All of you NFL fans who call the Patriots cheaters - time to move out of your glass house... You have to wonder how the Red Sox would have done this season if they had both Jon Lester and John Lackey in the rotation... Unbelievable - letter to the editor predicted EPA spill a week before it happened...  A Red Sox outfield with Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Rusney Castillo would be the best defensive OF in MLB - time to move Hanley Ramirez to first base... When Tom Brady sues the NFL for defamation and the damage done to his reputation I hope this post is listed among the exhibits... Just saying but Hanley Ramirez can't be any worse defensively at first than Kevin Millar was... Heh heh...
