Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
I 100% believe that if the Federal Government requires the economy to be shut down that the people responsible for making that decision should NOT be receiving a paycheck during the duration of that shutdown. I know most of the people in Congress are now millionaires but it bugs me to no end that these folks who are supposed to be representing us are still getting paid while 16 million Americans (and counting) have lost their jobs... Brit Hume's full name is Alexander Britton Hume. How come he just doesn't go by Al Hume?... The Hogwarts motto is Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus - "never tickle a sleeping dragon"... "Facing the press is more difficult than bathing a leper." - Mother Teresa. I'm sure President Trump could relate to that quote... I'm a glutton for punishment but I would love to watch a Jeopardy! showdown between CNN's Jim Acosta and Wolf Blitzer. I'd put the combined over/under for correct answers for the entire show at 5. I'd also bet that neither would qualify for Final Jeopardy because they would both be well into negative numbers...

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Russian arms manufacturers must be really ticked off at how inaccurate the Iranian missiles were. Not to mention how their ground to air missile system was used to shoot down a civilian airliner. Not great advertisements for future sales. Buy American!... A little adult Jeopardy! humor... "Love me when I least deserve it, because that's when I really need it." - Swedish proverb... My preferred adverbs are "Rhythmically" and "Sexily." Please respect my choices... Heh Heh... Revolution also means "to come back around." Maybe there'll be a revolution in Iran where they come back around to the secular, modern, successful nation they were pre-1979... Going to have business cards made up - Chris Lynch, Natural Philosopher - because why not?...

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
When I saw trending on Twitter was Emma Watson's "self-partnered" comment and the NBA's "load management" issue - I assumed they were related. Am I a bad person because my mind works like that?... This is such a tremendous way to get your message out... Boston pro sports are a combined 25-4-2 between the Patriots, Celtics and Bruins so there really should be nothing to complain about. Every other sports city in the USA would be celebrating their good fortune. Yet in Boston you'd never know how good things are if you only got your information from sports talk radio... Excellent quote "Your mind automatically generates thoughts related to the information you consume. Be Conscious of your information diet"... Do you remember when certain comedians and pundits tried to force the nickname of "Donald Drumf" on the President? It will be interesting if any of those now try to pass themselves off as non-partisan... Nice - Teen Jeopardy Champ donates $10,000 to cancer research in Alex Trebek's name...

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- Alex Trebek recovering from blood clots on the brain. Prognosis looks good. Alex is the man!
- Holy crap! Only people over 35 probably get the joke.
- Interesting - Obamacare to die in a whimper. If insurance companies could offer a plan with full Obamacare coverage but also other lower cost plans more customized to individual needs - how many people would buy the Obamacare coverage? Almost nobody?
- Heh heh
- Interesting new potential solar cell window technology
- If you really wanted to ban slaughterbots - you never should have given them such a very cool name. Slaughterbots! I don't think they understand how most people will think this is cool technology.
- Chelsea Clinton denies being a Satanist. Maybe it was just a phase?

Penis Mightier
No reason - just felt like posting this SNL classic skit:
Alex Trebek: Welcome back to "Celebrity Jeopardy" It's been an exciting first round. That being said, let's take a look at the scores. Sean Connery has negative 16,500 dollars.
Sean Connery: Damm you and your daily doubles you brigand! One day it'll be my turn, Trebek!
Alex Trebek: Great. Calista Flockhart, with an amazing negative $58,000. Good job.
Calista Flockhart: [ quietly like all of her lines ] Thank you.
Alex Trebek: And finally, Nicholas Cage is in the lead with $8.
Nicholas Cage: You got lights, you've got cameras - bitchin' technology!
Alex Trebek: I don't know how anyone could get $8, but better luck to all of you in the next round. It's time for Double Jeopardy. Let's take a look at the board. The categories are.. Potent Potables; The Pen is Mightier.. that category is all about quotes from famous authors, so you'll all probably be more comfortable with our next category..; Shiny Objects; continuing with Opposites; Things you Shouldn't Put in Your Mouth; What Time is It?; and, finally, Months That Start With Feb. Mr. Cage you're in the lead, so let's start with you.
Nicholas Cage: Hmm.. what? Where...
Alex Trebek: Okay, Calista Flockhart, why don't you pick a category?
Calista Flockhart: Um no.. pass.
Alex Trebek: You'll pass. Very smart. Mr. Connery, why don't you pick?
Sean Connery: Ah! Well met! I'll take Months That Start With Feb, Trebek.
Alex Trebek: For how much?
Sean Connery: Suprise me, you filthy bastard!
Alex Trebek: Okay, that's completely unnecessary. Months That Start With Feb for $800. This is the only month that starts with Feb. [ Sean Connery buzzes in ] Mr. Connery?
Sean Connery: Febtober!
Alex Trebek:No. [ Calista Flockhart buzzes in ] Calista Flockhart.
Calista Flockhart: What is.. Febturday?
Alex Trebek: No.
Sean Connery: She said turd!
Alex Trebek: I hate you! The answer was February. That's the month that starts with Feb. It was last month!
Sean Connery: Aha! A trick question!
Alex Trebek: Yeah, it was a trick question, Mr. Connery. Why don't you pick a category?
Sean Connery: I've got to ask you about the Penis Mightier.
Alex Trebek: What? No. No, no, that is The Pen is Mightier.
Sean Connery: Gussy it up however you want, Trebek. What matters is does it work? Will it really mighty my penis, man?
Alex Trebek: It's not a product, Mr. Connery.
Sean Connery: Because I've ordered devices like that before - wasted a pretty penny, I don't mind telling you. And if The Penis Mightier works, I'll order a dozen.
Alex Trebek: It's not a Penis Mightier, Mr. Connery. There's no such thing!
Nicholas Cage: Wait, wait, wait.. are you selling Penis Mightiers?
Alex Trebek: No! No, I'm not.
Sean Connery: Well, you're sitting on a gold mine, Trebek!

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Thank God the Patriots had the foresight to sign Tim Tebow as a back-up tight end... Guy writes his name as a penis on Jeopardy... Many people started off by comparing Barack Obama to Jimmy Carter. Then with all the scandals - it was vogue to compare him to Richard Nixon. I think when it is all said and done - historians will be comparing him to Warren Harding... Interesting - the abandoned island in the middle of NYC... Had a dream that I was in a group called The Slim Whitman Tribute Band but all we played were Primus covers. Yodeling Wynona's Big Brown Beaver was actually pretty cool on many levels... I understand this and am not saying it is wrong but its just that it doesn't seem right. The highest paid people on the Pentagon's budget are the three service academy football coaches... Jack Dempsey said the only man he ever ducked fighting when he was heavyweight champ was Ernest Hemingway. He didn't want to hurt him... Holy crap! John McAfee founder of McAfee software on how to uninstall his software...

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
If I ran Single A or below baseball team I'd invite Charlie Sheen to play in a Press Release. I'd ask him to bring his winning. Seriously I'd invite Charlie Sheen to play any position he wants. The number of outlets reporting on it alone would make it a "winning" proposition. Free advertising for the team and an outside shot he's crazy enough to take up the offer... Victor Davis Hanson on Donald Rumsfeld - double win... How screwed up would it be if Zack Greinke became of charter member of Charlie Sheen's cult?... Charlie Sheen quotes as New Yorker cartoons... Now when I see the question "Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" I really expect the answer to be Charlie Sheen... Very cool! New Jersey Congressman Beats IBM’s Watson... If I was at all musical I would start a Bruce Springsteen cover band with an Elvis impersonator as the frontman singing the Springsteen songs in an Elvis voice. I'd call it Boss Elvis. I think that would be awesome... God forgive me but I laughed my ass off at this... Some sites have this "Space Ball" banner ad - the noise on those ads is the most annoying thing in the history of the Internet. I wish I knew what product those ads are for just so I could avoid buying that product for the rest of my life... Very cool! Band of Brothers cast to jump out of planes in aid of Normandy memorial. I just knew that Dale Dye would be one of the parachuters... I agree with this legislation 100% - NH Bill Would Make Some T&A Screening Sexual Assault...
