Andrew Huberman has come out in support of ending daylight savings. Now I know my opinion is correct. Think the Democrats missed a huge opportunity in not opposing daylight savings first. Think they could have said "We'll be corrupt as hell but we are 100% against daylight savings" and they would have won elections in a landslide.

I fully admit that I'm optimistic about this move but I view success as 9 win seasons and a bowl game every year plus perennially being in contention for an ACC title. If you were a UNC fan wouldn't you have the same standard?

Today is the 125th annual Army/Navy game held at 3:00 PM on CBS. The game is being held this year at Northwest Stadium in Landover, MD home of the Washington Commanders. Said it before but I highly recommend everyone seeing this game in person at least once in their lives. You can't appreciate the roar, how well behaved the crowd is or the myriad traditions that go into this game on TV. If you do go - get there early and stay until the very end so you can truly take in everything that goes with this game.

Something naysayers keep doing regarding Bill Belichick being selected to be the coach at UNC is to say programs like Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State already have these pro-like amenities and requirements in place. Do these people even hear themselves because suddenly the mere presence of Belichick is elevating lowly North Carolina to the same levels as these blue bloods in their minds. That's a reason to justify the hire - not knock it.

The final college football seeding for a 12-team playoff field was released yesterday and while most oxygen is being spent on 3-loss Alabama or Ole Miss not getting in I think the bigger controversy was that Notre Dame almost went undefeated and being ranked 2nd in the polls. The Fighting Irish finished 11-1 because they unexpectedly lost to unranked NIU. They easily could have been undefeated but still denied having a first round bye. The committee dodged a bullet on that one.

Today is the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor "a day that will live in infamy." I am bugged by how little remembrance is paid to the day. Many a truth is said in jest.
John Marshall
"Marshall's political views crystalized by this time. His pragmatic nature resisted the adoption of a large number of a priori principles, but on four issues his views were firm. He believed in a strong central government, the supremacy of the constitution, the necessity for an independent judiciary, and the inalienable right to possess, enjoy, and augment private property. Marshall's views were consistent with the major current of eighteenth-century American thought. Locke, Blackstone, Hume, and Montesquieu - the writers most cited in postcolonial America - stressed that the purpose of government was to protect private rights, especially the right to property, and that the tyranny of the majority was as much to be feared as the tyranny of the crown." - John Marshall by Jean Edward Smith
This brings up two excellent question. What is the purpose of a government? We've become so used to just having one we've lost the meaning of their purpose. Second, how does the inalienable right to property jive with the government coercing the de-banking of an individual?

The Power of Tiny Gains
Oh Canada
Many celebrities and lefties (but I repeat myself) vowed to move to Canada if Donald Trump was elected. While these were mostly empty threats from people who live in a world of make believe - these people also mostly live in states that do not require ID's to vote in federal elections. Canada does.
Here are the voting requirements in Canada to vote in national elections:
- Present a government issued ID with name and address.
- Otherwise you have to show two pieces of ID - at least one must show your current address.
- If you lack proper ID you can declare your name and address in writing and someone with proper ID who lives in the polling location can vouch for you.

Would be interesting if they held a vote of each Canadian province to become a new state in the US under Donald Trump or remain in Canada governed by Justin Trudeau and his ilk from Ottawa how that would turn out. Also we could have a vote in all the states that don't require an ID to vote and if they don't approve ID's - that state gets traded to Canada. I think as a result all states would vote for ID's.

Joe Biden's Pardon of Hunter Biden
Some thoughts on the Presidential pardon of Hunter Biden:
- The pardon is retroactive to 2014 well before Joe Biden became President but corresponds with Hunter with no experience but being named to Burisma's board of directors.
- This gives Donald Trump just cause to pardon anyone convicted of Jan 6th crimes, anyone jailed for abortion protests and many others as simple victims of "lawfare" because their political beliefs didn't align with the "ruling class."
- This also puts shade on the reputations of the DOJ, the FBI, the intelligence community, the press, and anyone who supported Joe Biden (or Kamala Harris).

Wolverines Dominic Zvada seemingly couldn't miss going a perfect 2-2 including a 54-yarder while poor Buckeyes kicker Jayden Fielding was just 1-3 and seemingly had the yips. Made the observation at the time that Zvada definitely got laid last night but I worry if Fielding can even appear on campus now.
