Fogo de Chao
The other night in Atlanta I went out to eat at a restaurant so interesting that it deserves it's own post.
Myself and seven others in my party went to Fogo de Chao. What was different was the fact that there was a salad buffet but the main courses were different cuts of meat on skewers that were brought to your seat by the waiters. The meats included filet mignon, pork loins, lamb chops, leg of lamb, sausage, top sirloin and chicken. My favorite was the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. This place was an Atkins' dieters dream (not that I'm on the Atkins diet though maybe I should be).
If front of each person is a "button" which is just like a beer coaster. One side is red and one side is green. When you want more meat simply have the green side of the button up. When you are all set or when you want to take a break you put the red side up. The waiters keep bringing meat until you're stuffed.
To compliment the meal we had a traditional drink called quentao which is very hard to describe. Suffice it to say that the drink is very sweet but very strong.
Fogo de Chao has three restaurants in Brazil and in the States they have restaurants in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and Houston.
