Happy Birthday to Fred Lynn

Today is Freddy's 53rd birthday. He knows he never should have left Boston and many fans like me still savor the memories of Freddy roaming centerfield for the Sox.

I don't think I'm likely to see a player win the MVP, Rookie of the Year and earn a Gold Glove like Fred Lynn did back in 1975 again in my lifetime. Lynn finished with 9 All-Star game appearences and 4 Gold Gloves.

I would take Fred Lynn over Wade Boggs any day of the week. Wade Boggs molests collies.
