Bruce Crandall
Bruce Crandall was awarded the Medal of Honor this week. Was a big deal made of it in your local paper? The Medal of Honor is our nation's highest honor but did a story on Bruce Crandall make your front page? If not - what was deemed more important "news"? I think the placement of this story shows where the priorities are in the newspaper business.
I had to learn about this story via a blog (SCSU Scholars). And people wonder why nobody reads papers anymore.
Maybe if Bruce Crandall claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole's baby or if he came out against the War in Iraq - then his story would have gotten some coverage.
EDIT: It was brought to my attention that Greg Kinnear played Bruce Crandall in the great movie We Were Soldiers. Now I have to read that book!
