Chuck Schumer was trying to blackmail the Republicans by requiring about $1.5 billion in wasteful goodies in exchange for Democratic support of the continuing resolution to keep the government open. President Trump said "Fine shut down the government it will give us an excuse to permanently layoff thousands of government workers." Schumer is now trapped. Does he give up on the things he was fighting for or risk the jobs of thousands who were voting Democrats. It's kinda funny.
