Elon Musk announced that he's releasing the X algorithm to open source both so people can understand how the algorithm works but to also help find any flaws or maybe suggest improvements. This is also in a manner, why I suggest that any scientific paper published that was partially or wholly funded with a federal grant should be free to the public - to help validate, find any flaws, or possible suggested improvements. That would be the best way to get science done in this country.
