Each time I see that picture I am struck by how the United States lost the art after Apollo and for many years was launching all of its satellites using Russian rocket engines up until and even after Congress told NASA they were forbidden to buy any more damned Russian engines.
Love the story that Elon Musk wanted to buy a Russian rocket buy the top Russian rocket engineer spat on him. So Elon said "Fine I'll build my own." The rest is history.
