DeflateGate Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations on DeflateGate.

Not sure when I realized this but Roger Goodell is actually a Phil Hartman sketch come to life - the Unfrozen Caveman Commissioner... Heh heh - Fundamentally Honest Man Railroaded by Arrogant Ginger... Sources say Tweet by @mortreport denying Roger Goodell three times before the cock crowed has been deleted... When the NFL finally fires Roger Goodell - they should ask Condolezza Rice to be the next Commissioner... Roger Goodell's Fatal Mistake: Tom Brady an Innocent Man... Sources says @mortreport Tweet saying Roger Goodell has accepted Baphomet as his Lord and Savior has been deleted... Is Roger Goodell from Pennsylvania because he sure acts like a Keystone Commissioner... Agree with this 100%... Actually Goodell was born in New York and I'm not sure if anyone will get the dated Keystone Cops reference... Random and arbitrary decisions seem to be Roger Goodell's modus operandi ... Could the Colts and Ravens look any more whinny and duplicitous in this whole affair? And I'm guessing more damaging emails are forthcoming if this farce isn't ended soon... Sources say @mortreport has deleted Tweet accusing NFL VP Mike Kensil of having a detatchable penis...

Super Bowl Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations from last night's wicked awesome Patriots victory!

How can you not love Tom Brady?... Ed Werder with the Stat of the Day; "There were 109 passes thrown from the 1-yard line this season. Russell Wilson's was the first intercepted. That play decides the Super Bowl"... I would have run it with Lynch... Seriously Nationwide - WTF?... Pats cheerleader Kelly Bennion is the definition of a catch... OK with Bob Kraft no longer in his corner - what's the over / under for how long it takes for the NFL to name Condi Rice as Roger Goodell's replacement as Commissioner... You can judge a man by the company he keeps. Again - how can you not love Tom Brady (OK maybe I'm trolling a little)...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

I'm a bit of a political junkie but last night I skipped Condi Rice's speech and Paul Ryan's speech because Turner Classic Movies was showing Casablanca. I make no apologies. I have my priorities... Would Kendrys Morales be a good fit for the Red Sox? I'm kind of growing on the idea of bringing back Victor Martinez... If I was to give a speech at the RNC or DNC - I would randomly mention the names of states just to see if the delegates from those states jumped up and cheerer... Wow - just wow! Awesome photo of Saturn and its moon Titan... Pro Football Talk compared Tim Tebow's attitude to that of Buddy the Elf. I now cannot get that out of my head. What a great comparison... If they re-boot the Batman franchise - I hope they bring back Christian Bale as a villain. How cool and meta trippy would that be?...

Bush's Second Term Diplomacy

Very interesting article by Stephen Hayes at the Weekly Standard. The focus of the article is Condoleeza Rice and backroom diplomacy with the North Koreans but to me this was the crux of the story:
But that speech [Bush's second inaugural] is better understood in retrospect as a coda to his first term than a bridge to the current one. In the second term, those who have chosen to test America's resolve--the Iranians, the Syrians, the North Koreans--have often found it less than firm.
I understand that until Iraq is sorted out that the military's hands are basically tied but that doesn't mean I'm not uncomfortable with the kid gloves we are treating the Syrians, Iranians and North Koreans. Read the whole piece.

Vote for Clinton 'Cause She's a Woman or Vote Obama "Cause He's Black?

For black women at Spelman College there seems to be a dilemma.

You would think that the answer would be plain as day - vote for Condolezza Rice.
