Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.

- The world's top 25 websites in 2023. Sites 12 and 13 are porn. They should be higher.

- The FBI searched Joe Biden's home and found classified documents from the time he was a Senator. This is from NPR meaning the people actually in charge don't want Biden to run in 2024.

- Pentagon admits in release they funded 48 biological labs in Ukraine. Have to wonder if these last two stories are related. Good news - no more nukes. Bad news - we funded a ton of bio labs in Ukraine we're getting blackmailed over.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Harsh but fair... Wonder what videos would pop up if you typed "Ayn Rand" into the search bar on YouPorn or PornHub? May have to check that out. That would be amusing to me. Replacing the search words with "Nancy Pelosi" would be terrifying... The vaccines are safe (unless it kills you)... The Olympics stopped having motor boating as an official even back in 1908. That's too bad because that's one activity I could excel at. Wait - what? Not that kind of motor boating? Well never mind then...  Please Justice Breyer - hang in there for 3 more years... And people still wonder why there's so much lingering distrust over the vaccines... One reason the governments of Australia and New Zealand were able to force full lockdowns on the citizens is because there is no Second Amendment in either country. Think about that...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

Just a reminder that CNN was kowtowing to Saddam Hussein and curbing any critical reporting in exchange for "access" prior to Operation Desert Storm. That's why I'm not surprised by CNN's complete ass-kissing of the Chinese Communists... Interesting historical comparison. Don't recall the US shutting down the economy for the Korean War (only being slightly sarcastic). HT Bryan Alexander... Yesterday was Tax Day and I didn't realize it till late afternoon. That's messed up... Heh Heh... If a college athletics director really wanted to cut costs (which will be a necessity after the Wuhan virus runs its course) the simple way would be to convince the administration to make all the bathrooms on campus unisex. The AD could then cut all women's sports and announce that the school would also only have "unisex" sports teams. All teams would be open to males, females, trans, whoever. That would be the "woke" power move (please note I'm not advocating this but I would love to see how certain people would react)... I'd give $100 to any reporter who asks California Governor Gavin Newsom when he thinks the porn industry can open back up. An extra $100 if the reporter casually mentions that people are getting sick of watching repeats...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

How ironic would it be if Jeffrey Epstein was actually murdered by Harry Reid because Epstein had proof that Reid really was a pedophile... I would love to watch a show or listen to a podcast where a Dalek (from Doctor Who) asks scientists and writers questions in his Dalek voice. That would be awesome!... Old time baseball... The name Manhattan started out as Manahatchtaniek which is Lenape Indian for "the island where we all became intoxicated" after the Indians were made totally drunk by the Dutch... And speaking of Manhattan - can someone remind me what the point or goals of the Occupy Movement were? Seriously - what was the f*cking point?... If you watch porn backwards - it tells the story of a woman who gives her man sex so he will clean the pool, hook up the cable or deliver some pizzas...  Laws for the Navigation of Life. These are phenomenal. Peter Josef Safar was a remarkable man... I'm surprised nobody has come out with a Tickle-Me Michael Jackson Doll. That would be one of the great gag gifts of all-time...

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observation.

The NBA three-team trade gone bad over the wrong Brooks reminds me of the story of how Angels owner Gene Autry once told his GM to "get that outfielder from the Red Sox" so the GM signed Rick Miller. Autry meant Dwight Evans... This is such a great story. Charles Barkey is an American treasure... I think the maximum an NHL coach should be with any one team is 9-years. That's the longest Scottie Bowman coached with one team (the Redwings - he spent 8-years with the Canadiens). Just like a US President has a max of 2-terms an NHL coach should have a max of 9-seasons. Call it the Scottie Bowman rule... Cool - California election resolved with Dungeons & Dragons dice...  9 also happens to be the number of Stanley Cup Championships Bowman won as head coach... Excellent life advice... Studies suggest that there has been a big uptick in women watching male gay porn (like guys watching girl on girl I guess). This poses two real dangers for straight married guys. First friends may find the Internet history and assume it is the husband watching the porn or second the wives may come to think that the average male is much better endowed and can "last" much longer than their hubby. Congress should do something about this!...

Giving Things Up

I can't recall when or why I decided to do it but sometime in January I decided that I would give up beer for the month of February. No it wasn't a Lent related thing. I just decided I was probably drinking too much and for me giving up beer pretty much meant giving up alcohol for the month.

There were just a couple of times when I was out to eat with others and allowed myself a glass or two of red wine. But other than that it really wasn't that hard. When out watching a game or playing cards with friends they'd ask why I was doing it and I'd say, "Just because" then joke that I picked February because it was the shortest month.

I didn't give up anything for March since it's my birthday month and I had a trip planned for Santa Monica and the Pacific Coast Highway with my girlfriend. I wanted my full range of vices available to me. Which was nice.

For April I decided to try and give up porn. I really did try but damn it... Well let's just say I was much more successful giving up other things.

In May I gave up Keno. No problem. And I've only played Keno once since. It is a waste of money and even if you say "I'm just doing it for the entertainment value" it's a losing proposition. Now even the thought of it makes me feel like a loser. (Though I still may have those Professional Keno Player business cards printed up as a joke.)

Coffee was next. My pot of coffee habit in the morning and two large Dunkin coffees for any long drive had long been a staple of my existence. The headaches were tough in the first week and a half and my energy levels dropped for about the same amount of time but I stuck to just one large hot tea in the morning (Irish Breakfast Blend) and by the end of the month of June I wasn't really missing coffee at all. Just like beer - I've gone back to drinking coffee but the amount has been drastically cut down and now any given morning it is 50/50 whether it's coffee or tea in my morning cuppa.

July I gave up betting on sports. Like giving up alcohol in February because it is the shortest month - I justified giving up placing bets because there's only really baseball in July. Both the NBA and NHL are done and football is still a couple months away. No problem. (Giving up sports betting during football season would be different but hey let's not get carried away here.)

For August I plan to give up eating.

Maybe I should clarify. I plan to have two 24-hour fasts on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. I hope to make this a permanent habit if possible. I've already started intermittent fasting based upon some of the health based podcasts I've listened to. Now I try to eat only between the hours of 9 AM and 7 PM. Between 7 PM and 9 AM just water. I've already experienced some benefits (lost 6 pounds) and am curious about adding in a couple 24-hour fasts into the regular mix.

Not sure what I'll give up for September yet but I like this giving things up deal. Maybe soon it will be time to go on a add things in kick. Trying to do something for 30-days straight is supposed to be the easiest way to create a lasting habit.

Anyway just thought I'd share. Try giving things up yourself. What do you have to lose?

Flotsam and Jetsam

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.

I wonder if medical science came out with evidence that taking steroids saved Roger Clemens from having to get Tommy John surgery whether my opinion would change about either steroids or Clemens?... So how does a 3-D printer work? I've said it before but once they perfect printing 3-D blow-up sex dolls - all the dating sites will go bankrupt... As a fan of the New England Patriots - I love Rex Ryan as the coach of the Jets. In fact they should give him a contract extension... I'm surprised nobody has come out with a Tickle-Me Michael Jackson doll. That would be one of the top gag gifts of all-time... If you watch porn backwards - it tells the story of a woman who gives her man sex so he will clean the pool or deliver some pizzas... Very sad about Linda Rondstadt... When people say they were "born and bred" in a particular place - does that mean their parents specifically had sex in hoping to have a baby in that specific geography? I'm Boston born and bred because my parents wanted to make sure I had the right accent?

Linky Links

Stuff I found interesting and thought I'd share.
Newt Gingrich's campaign's check to get on Utah ballot bounces. Talk about your metaphors.
Gas prices will be President Obama's soft underbelly. He can't spin the story he's been telling and when / if he caves on the Keystone XL pipeline then he will have to answer for why he waited so long.
Shamefully enjoyable collection of people simulating masturbation at sport events. Sometimes I'm as mature as  a 12-year old.
Speaking of masturbation - the size of Internet porn sites is just staggering. Consider that YouPorn is six times larger than the networks owned Hulu.

Agatha Christie

Over the weekend I read Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. It was a fun read. Knowing the resolution of the mystery - I probably wouldn't read it a second time though. What was also fun was checking IMDB and seeing how many times the 1940 book was made into a movie (keep in mind that the book was also known under the title Ten Little Indians).

- And Then There Were None (1945)
- Ten Little N*ggers (1949) Oh those whacky British
- Ten Little Indians (1959)
- Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians (1965)
- Ten Little Indians (1974)
- Ten Little Maidens (1985) Oh oh - Agatha Christie porn with Ginger Lynn and Nina Hartley
- Ten Little Indians (1989) With Frank Stallone!

So seven movies based on an OK mystery (plus a video game). That's more attention than one of Shakespeare's lesser works. I'm glad I stumbled onto the book. I wasn't aware it was of such staggering cultural importance.

A Very Good Question

Excellent question - what does become of the massive porn collection?

And of course I do have to mention that it is only fitting that a member of the "Yankees" would have a massive porn collection.
