Red Sox Magic Number

The Red Sox magic number is now 20. Any combination of 20 Red Sox wins or Yankee losses will clinch the division title for the Sox.

Last night the Sox fell to the Angels 3-0 behind Paul Byrd's 7 strong innings. I've always like Byrd so I don't begrudge him the win. Let me predict right now that next year Byrd wins at least 18 games.

Menawhile the Yankees lost once again to the Devil Rays. I never get tired of saying that the Yankees won't make the playoffs this year and it will be all because of their inability to beat Tampa Bay.
