California is cutting cannabis taxes in hopes of saving struggling pot businesses.
Regulations have been driving prices so high that a person buying from the unregulated "legacy market" is likely to pay 50% less than if they buy from a licensed dispensary...
In plain English if you buy a bag of weed from a street dealer you may pay $25 but that same amount of weed would cost you $50 at a "legal" dispensary. The article estimates that 80% of pot is still bought on the "underground, legacy, unregulated market."
California really has screwed up a wet dream.
Sorry, but a 1oz bag on the street hasn't been $25 in over 30 years.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've heard *cough* in Mass where people are allowed up to six plants for personal use - those with green thumbs are happy to sell a 1 oz bag for $25 to friends.
ReplyDeleteSo I've been told.
New England, Cali, Hawaii, PNW were "rumored" to have good stuff way back when.
ReplyDeleteThis is not a surprise, because the government failed at running a whorehouse!
