Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Heh heh - Joe Biden: "I'm just like you regular folk. I put my pants on one arm at a time",,, A blonde is a blonde. A brunette is a brunette. A redhead is a redhead. So what do you call a woman with black hair? She's not a "black" and definitely not a "blackhead." And don't come at me with raven because that's a bird or a pro football player from Baltimore... Ron Rivera is a good man. He'll make someone an excellent coach next year with the team with the most obvious need for someone like Rivera being the Cleveland Browns... It has to be said that the world has really gone to hell since the passing of Abe Vigoda. Was he some sort of sentinel guarding the gates of chaos or something?... This is an interesting map. Islam is losing its grip on Northern Africa. Also interesting is in these sorts of graphs red is generally bad and green generally good. Were the map makers trying to insinuate that religion on a whole is bad?... As a rule I don't judge people but I will judge you if you play Hotel California on a digital jukebox that has access to thousands of other songs. And my verdict won't be kind...

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Any beer (craft or otherwise) that uses the word "mouthfeel" to describe its product is dead to me. I can't even believe mouthfeel is a real word... "Holy shit!" is right!... "Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another: 'What? You too? I thought I was the only one.'" C.S. Lewis... Very cool photo... Am I the only one who is disappointed that Abe Vigoda failed to rise from the dead?... I went to years of Catholic school and was never told that Saint Peter - the rock on which Jesus built his church - the first Pope - was married... Another cool (and scary) photo... Since being traded by the Red Sox Jon Lester has gone 61-34 - just saying...

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Used to be a big fan of NBA All-Star weekend. Now I probably won't see one second of the 3-point contest, dunk contest or actual game... I love the idea of Pedro Martinez being more involved and hands-on with the pitchers at Spring Training for the Red Sox... Subterranean Beavers would be a good name for a band... This week I was having lunch at a Japanese restaurant when I notice the movie Pearl Harbor was playing on the TV's in the background. I was amused by that (but also slightly uncomfortable)... It has to be said that the world has really gone to hell since the passing of Abe Vigoda. Was he some sort of sentinel guarding the gates of chaos or something?... I really want one of these trucks... A blonde is a blonde. A brunette is a brunette. A redhead is a redhead. So what do you call a woman with black hair? She's not a "black" and definitely not a "Blackhead". And don't come at me with "raven" because that's a bird or a pro football player from Baltimore...

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
The biggest unanswered question from John Podesta's email hack is whether or not he ever got that knock-off Viagra he was looking for... Cool - NASA announces two new asteroid missions... "The best time for a man to do Kegel exercises is while he urinates." - John Kerry... Heh heh... Death Waltz would be a great name for a heavy metal Lawrence Welk cover band... This is quite a hiking accomplishment... Speaking of unanswered questions - is Brian Urlacher still rocking the suddenly found hair he had going on last January?... Tommy Heinsohn is the best... Speaking of band names - Vengeance Quakers would be a good name for a band... I still say that salad bars should be renamed "vegetable buffets"... Cool... People forget that 2016 started with the death of the immortal Abe Vigoda. It is possible that so many celebrities died last year as revenge from the Angel of Death who was finally able to defeat the Great Vigoda...

Abe Vigoda
Abe Vigoda is dead. He is no more. He's ceased to be. He's joined the choir invisible.
I learned about his death from Keith who pointed out that the site IsAbeVigodaDead.com was almost instantly updated (same with AbeVigoda.com). Vigoda was known for basically three things - playing Sal Tessio from The Godfather, Detective Fish from Barney Miller and for not being dead. Now he'll just be remembered for being Sal Tessio and Detective Fish.
When I think about Abe Vigoda - this episode of Barney Miller always comes to mind.
I was almost convinced that Abe Vigoda was immortal.

Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
My heartfelt condolences to anyone who bet on the Detroit Lions last night. That was the ultimate bad beat... This has been my favorite joke to tell the past 6 months... It has to be asked - is Abe Vigoda an immortal?... In New England the Patriots have become so big that kids don't write letters to Santa any more. They write letters to Teddy Bruschi... BTW - that wasn't a facemask last night. Never should have been a flag... Interesting - is intermittent fasting good for you?... Is the answer oral sex? If not I don't want to know the question... Heh heh... You have to think that there were a lot of Packer fans and people who bet on Green Bay who turned off the game when it was 17-0 last night. What a nice surprise for those folks to wake up to this morning...

Stuff I found interesting or amusing and thought I'd share.
- RIP Leonard Nimoy. Here was his last Tweet from a few days ago. Makes you wonder if he knew the end was near.
- Nice article on what the Pawtucket Red Sox have meant to the city. I'll be sure to catch a few games there this season.
- Can't help but think of all the missed shots. Great idea but I'd hate to have to clean that floor.
- Not to jinx anything but Abe Vigoda is still alive
- Interesting - little girl receives gifts from crows as thanks for feeding them
- How much do Keynote Speakers make?
- This is one beautiful car
- How sanctions are effecting the Russian economy

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
You just know that one of the first real "practical" applications for Google Glass will be for POV porn movies... Who knew that I had this in common with Pedro Martinez?... 10,000 people a year die of drunk driving in the US. 5,000 people die from food poisoning. This message brought to you by MAEAEHC (Mothers Against Eating Anything Except Home Cooking)... I guess the best thing about Google Glass POV porn will be you'll never see the guy's goofy facial expressions during sex... Sounds like a plan... You know it's true! When Robin Williams died and then Lauren Bacall how many people wondered who would be the third celebrity to die?... Is it possible that Tony Stewart has raced his last race?... You also know that someone will film a Google Glass POV porn where the only audio from the guy is "I am Groot" or "Hodor, Hodor"... Just checking...

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
The one thing that disappoints me about Osama bin Laden's death is I haven't seen a photoshop of him wearing a Yankees cap (yet!)... Abe Vigoda's friends got him a hooker. When Abe answered the door she said, "Let's go upstairs and have sex." Abe replied, "Darling I can do only one thing at a time"... There's a mini-controversy about Osama bin Laden not having a weapon when he was shot. This reminds me of some lines from the movie Unforgiven; Little Bill "You just shot an unarmed man!" Will Munny "Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend"... Are there circumstances in which feeding kittens to boa constrictors might be morally acceptable?... With Osama bin Laden dead - is Lebron James now the most hated person in America?... William Shakespeare, the greatest writer of all-time, was married to a woman who could neither read nor write... Speaking of Osama - this is awesome... America’s kitties eat 12 million pounds of flesh every day - some day the little old ladies with the cats are going to run out of Meow Mix. This would be a great premise for a movie - Zombie Kittens... The more President Obama legitimizes the policies of President Bush - the more the door opens for Jeb Bush in 2012.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
This is why I love Dustin Pedroia. He's like a cross between Ryne Sandberg and Begbie from Trainspotting... I had Godfather II on the TV last night while doing some emails. It came to the part where Fredo gets a call from Johnny Ola in the middle of the night and all of a sudden I started asking, "Why is Junior Soprano calling Fredo Corleone?" I had never picked up on the fact that Dominic Chianese (Uncle Junior) was in the movie... Speaking of Godfather II - Abe Vigoda is still alive!... Excellent point about Ryan Zimmerman and the Nationals. While the Red Sox locked up Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis this offseason - the Nationals took another step toward forcing the face of their franchise towards free agency. The timing with Zimmerman may work out well for the Red Sox depending on whether Mike Lowell can stay healthy and productive long enough for them to wait for Zimmerman. Why does Jim Bowden still have a job?... Last night Charles Barkley did a mea culpa about his drinking and driving arrest and today he celebrates his 46th birthday. I'm betting that if he goes out tonight that he has a limo. Happy birthday Sir Charles...
