Who Said It Best?
Yeah those are Joe Biden's words not Jon Gruden's. Difference is Joe Biden got to keep his job. If I used some of Hunter Biden's racial quotes with Jon Gruden's likeness I'd probably be banned from social media. Just saying.

Quotes for Today
Some quotes I hope may resonate with you.
"The word 'racism' is like ketchup, it can be put on practically anything - and demanding evidence makes you a racist." - Thomas Sowell
"The world as a living being, one nature, one soul. Keep that in mind." - Marcus Aurelius
"You know with Hitler, the more I learn about that guy the more I don't care for him." - Norm MacDonald
"In my whole life, I have known no wise people (over a broad subject matter area) who didn't read all the time - none, zero." - Charlie Munger

How the Media Fell for A Racism Sham
Everything that happened here fits into a growing problem in mainstream newsrooms; the injection of political values even into straight reporting, undermining the very purpose of journalism.
There were so many red flags to this story yet people like the NY Times ran with it because it fit their narrative. The only red flag missing was the Duke player saying after they called me the n-word they yelled, "This is MAGA country!"
What are the repercussions here? Who will take responsibility for the lie? Will the NY Times issue an apology? Will Duke suspend the volleyball player who issued the accusations? Unlikely. We live in an age where increasingly nobody is forced to take responsibility for their actions.

The Brian Flores Lawsuit
Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores has filed a lawsuit against the NFL, the NY Giants, the Dolphins, the Broncos (not sure why they were singled out), and the rest of the teams in the league. The lawsuit was filed, symbolically, on February 1st, the first day of Black History Month. Appropriate since this lawsuit is sure to make history.
Mike Florio posted an article on the lawsuit. In it he states:
The message to a jury of average people, if it gets to that point, will be simple. "Folks, if you flip a coin 500 times and it comes up head's 490 times, there's something wrong with the coin."
And it's ultimately going to cost the NFL many, many more than 500 coins to resolve this one.
Even 500 Bitcoins, which would be over $19 million may not be enough. Hey NFL - Black Head Coaches Matter.

Who is going to play the role of Charlton Heston reading out the lyrics of the rappers the NFL has hired to play the Super Bowl halftime show? Again not defending Gruden or his private views but the hypocrisy of the NFL is stunning.

Flotsam and Jetsam
Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
President Trump adding Senators Cruz and Cotton to his SCOTUS shortlist was both a wise and gracious move. Trump knew he was going to nominate a woman but adding Cruz and Cotton gave both Senators the thrill of a lifetime and cemented their support of the President...Great life advice - 7 lessons that will make you better... Reminder - a good chunk of Enron's ill-gotten gains came via the gullibility of the State of California regarding how energy is actually generated... The average age of the death in the US is 78-years old. The average age of COVID-19 deaths in the US is also 78-years old... Absolutely loved that the Department of Education launched an investigation of Princeton after their President said the institution was "systemically racist." Love it... Amused by the attempts of some to smear Judge Amy Coney Barrett with comparisons to Handmaiden's Tale. What percentage of registered voters in the US have actually read the book or watched the show? And of those who have read the book or seen the show what percentage are registered Democrats? 95% or more maybe? It's a comparison that only plays well in a limited echo chamber but also the same echo chamber in which most of the media these days exists...

Jon Stewart
One suggests he's a bullying racist.
One comes right out and says he's anti-union.
I wonder how many stories like this we will see once Jon Stewart is fianlly gone from The Daily Show.
