Miscellaneous thoughts and observations.
Just saying but back in March the media was reporting that "experts" predicted up to 2.2 million COVID-19 deaths in the US. So only 150,000-170,000 deaths should be celebrated by the same media as a success - right?... "The Spartans do not ask how many are the enemy, but where are they." - Plutarch... So the last person to leave California doesn't have to bother to turn out the lights - the government already took care of that with rolling blackouts... Saw the headline "Red Sox Could be Sellers at Trade Deadline" - made me laugh (as if there were any other option for the team this season)... "If it's endurable, then endure it. Stop complaining." - Marcus Aurelius... I'm an awful person for thinking this but I'd love to hear some reporter ask Joe Biden the question, "Mr. Vice President you've been in politics for a long time, do you have any remembrances of your interactions with Idi Amin?" Just to hear the rambling bizarre response that you know would ensue...
