Harriet Miers as Dan Quayle

Not many people seem happy with the choice of Harriet Miers for the Supreme Court. This reminds me of when George H. W. Bush chose Dan Quayle to be his running mate. Bush the elder made a choice because he knew that Quayle would be absolutely loyal. I think George W. made his choice because Miers has been absolutely loyal to him.

Quayle wasn't as stupid as some people made him out to be (although truth be told - they probably weren't far off). I'm sure Miers won't be as bad as some people are predicting. A mistake is still a mistake though and this looks like a mistake.
