Greenland and the US

Wrote an article last year on Donald Trump's interest in "acquiring" Greenland and this thought jumped back out at me:

Also keep in mind that the country is rich in natural resources including many rare earth metals. The big drawback is said to be the cost to mine these resources. Would that still be true of a person like Elon Musk who owns the Boring Company and manufacturers robots? As an aside - what better way to stress test robots for the harsh environments of Mars than testing them in the harsh environments of Greenland?

This is true - isn't it? Do you think this possibility has been discussed?

A Modest Proposal on Greenland

President Donald Trump has made no secret of wanting to "acquire" Greenland. He says the country is vital to US national security and economic interests.

Another reminder that climate change is a hoax to raise money and that stupid people and college students (but I repeat myself) fall for it. Notice this study was concluded in 2012. They have known for a long time. (Via)

Amusing that an athlete as wholesome and "aww shucks" as Tom Brady has a motto of "let's fucking go!"... A cute way to describe the GameStop situation... I guess that the Rams REALLY wanted to get rid of Jared Goff and his contract. They traded Goff and two first round picks along with a third round pick to the Lions for Matthew Stafford. This was a salary dump as much as anything... What is up the the Japanese?... Spherical Bastards would be a good name for a band (bastards no matter what angle you look at them)... My biggest disappointment of the Trump Administration is that he never follow through on the purchase of Greenland...

Greenland

Greenland is 2,166,086 sq km in area (making it slightly bigger than three times the size of Texas). But when you look at many maps or globes - Greenland appears to be bigger than Australia which is in fact more than 3.5 times larger than Greenland.

Greenland is just slightly bigger than Mexico (but with a slightly different climate).

I've said it before but for me Dustin Pedroia is like a cross between Ryne Sandberg and Begbie from Trainspotting... "Never start a sentence you don't know how to finish." - Paul Dirac... The argument against Amazon - it's the Standard Oil of the 21st Century... The country of Greenland has just 56,000 people. The City of Worcester, Mass has a population of 184,500. It is harder to get elected Mayor of Worcester than Prime Minister of Greenland... Can running help fight the negative aspects of stress on the brain?... Regarding the idea of arming teachers - after 9/11 many people were in favor of allowing pilots to carry arms in the cockpit. Nothing ever became of that... Rio de Janeiro means "River of January". I wonder if somewhere there's a Rio de Febrero?...

EDIT: Pilots are allowed to carry in the cockpit. Mea culpa.
