Gordon Edes has a good piece on Barry Bonds this morning in the Boston Globe. I had to quit reading half-way through because Bonds is such a jerk and I went well over my jerk quotient... On this day in 1976 - Joe Rudi and Rollie Fingers briefly became members of the Boston Red Sox but commissioner Kuhn nixed the trade on the grounds of "best interests of baseball"... Richard at Pearly Gates has a neat counter up showing the last time the Angels got a HR from a firstbaseman... You know Barry Bonds won't get close to a unanimous election to the HOF when his time comes. With the steroids thing and him being a complete asshole - right or wrong - Bonds will only get a little better than 90% of the BBWAA vote... John McCain may have officially shot down the idea of him being on the ticket with John Kerry but it seems like he hasn't completely closed the door on Dennis Kucinich. Just sayin'...
