Miscellaneous Thoughts

The Wages of Sin Minus Taxes would be a good name for a band... Happy 55th birthday to Don Baylor the newly named Mets hitting coach. May you have plenty of rumors of you replacing Art Howe as manager for your birthday... Andy Roddick should legally change his first name to "Err"... Literally more than 3 times as many people see the Montreal Expos when they are on the road (average crowd 28,065) then when they are at home (average crowd 9,192). That is pretty sad... People always talk about guys like Andy Kaufman or Jim Morrison faking their own deaths but wouldn't it be kinda funny if the guy who faked his own death turns out to be Ted Knight? (OK maybe that would only be funny to me)... Art Howe should have his last name legally changed so that a question mark always follows it. Art Howe? Art Howe?... People talk about Barry Bonds "historic" slugging percentage but Jim Thome is right behind him this season (.764 vs. .720)... The fact that you see relatively few commercials for the movie Dodgeball probably means that it is better than you may expect and the studio doesn't need a ton of commercials to overcome bad word of mouth (Lynch's rule of movie commercials)... I have mentioned Manny Ramirez and Vlade Guerrero as potential triple crown candidates but what about David Ortiz? He's now up over .300 (just out of the top 20 in the AL) and he is second in HR (tied) and first in RBI...
