Some observations while I have my first cup of coffee...



Last night when Chauncy Billups raised the MVP trophy - thousands of people in New England simultaneously said, "Fuck you Rick Pitino"... The San Francisco Chronicle has an article about Tiger Woods whose headline proclaims that Woods wants to return to being a "majordomo". Not sure if the folks at the Chronicle are aware that "majordomo" means servant (like a butler). Why would the ultra-PC Chronicle say that a guy who is half-black wants to return to servitude? In the words of Inigo Montoya - "You keep using that word but I do not think it means what you think it means"... Speaking of the US Open - I admit to being so immature that I chuckle whenever I hear someone say "Shinnecock"... The Mets fired their batting coach and replaced him with Don Baylor. How long will it take for one of the NY writers to post a column suggesting that Baylor should also replace Art Howe? I'd put the over/under in days.... The Mariners were shutout last night and are only hitting .260 as a team for the year.... The folks at the Chronicle would probably defend their use of the word "majordomo" by saying that in the "majors" Woods used to "dom"-inate. Get it? Well that's just a travshamockery... Jose Lima (pictured above with his wife) won his fifth game of the season last night for the Dodgers... I keep waiting for Lyle Overbay to turn back into a pumpkin but it never happens. For the last seven days Overbay is hitting a blistering .478 with 1 HR and 7 RBI... So did more "experts" predict the Berlin Wall coming down under Reagan or the Detroit Pistons beating the Lakers in the finals under Larry Brown?...
